De Gullah Creations is a for-profit consignment store founded in June 2002 by Sister Johnnie Mitchell and Sister Brenda Haines. They accept high quality art and crafts from Gullah craftpersons and supporters, then share the proceeds of the sale with the artists.
To date, De Gullah Creations has disbursed thousands of dollars back into the community to artists from store sales.
De Gullah Creations carefully selects the items it carries, and prices are based on factors such as uniqueness, quality of workmanship, and the reputation of artists.
